Coventry United Ladies have appointed Gemma Davies as their new first team coach.

Davies told the CULFC club website: "My main aim is to help each individual to be the best that they can be and to smile and enjoy their football. But I also want to help this team to strive for top position in the league by the end of the season. However I firmly believe this involves working with all age groups across the club.I am very excited for the season ahead and hope you can all come on this journey with me".

"2015 has been a busy year for me - I have been completing a Masters at Loughborough University in Sports Coaching, whilst also taking my UEFA B qualification and taking on a new job.I'm an easy and laid back person, but take my coaching very seriously".

"I have come a long way since I started coaching a local girls team at the age of 16 and want to continue this journey at Coventry United!".
"More recently I have spent a few years coaching University football for the University of Birmingham, and also gained some experience coaching in the Northern Premier League. However, I decided it was time for a new challenge and think that Coventry is the perfect club for me to find that. It has ambition and drive which I feel will inspire me to push myself, my colleagues and the players to achieve success on and off the pitch".

"I feel that I can bring a level of dedication and a creative and energetic approach to coaching that will compliment the values of the club. I have experience of managing a women's programme in my role as head coach at the University of Birmingham team, and I am excited to put some of my ideas into practise with a new set of players".
