Leamington FC have confirmed that they have appointed a new company secretary and issued the following statement:
"Leamington FC have appointed local Harbury man Clive Whorton to the position of Company Secretary to replace the outgoing Roger Austin who recently stepped aside for personal reasons.
Chairman Jim Scott said, 'We are delighted to have gained someone of Clive's experience who will further strengthen our management team. He retired in 2013 after 12 years working for Calor Gas Limited as Legal Manager and Company Secretary. He comes with a wealth of experience in senior management roles at a number of different companies and during his career has headed up multi-functioned teams dealing with official bodies and regulators in 3 public inquiries and several major health and safety prosecutions; handled the acquisition and sale of many large businesses; set up joint ventures; managed several major litigation cases; and advised on numerous large commercial contracts'.
"Clive who is 60 and married with two sons has lived in Harbury for almost 25 years and in Warwick the six years before that. He stated, 'I love my football and was looking for an interest that would motivate and excite me. After hearing about the club's plans from Board members it was an easy decision to make to join the team. I look forward to the challenges ahead and hope to make a contribution to the continued development and progress of the club.'
