Iconic Coventry band The Specials picked up an award for 'Outstanding Contribution To Music' tonight at the Shockwave NME Awards at the Brixton Academy.
Blur's Damon Albarn, himself a Specials fan, presented the award to lead singer Terry Hall who said: "This is the most urban award we've ever received, I can't believe how gross it is! Thank you very much."
The Specials then played 'Gangsters' and 'Too Much Too Young' on the main stage to a delighted audience.
The awards will be shown on Channel 4 this Friday night and repeated on T4 on Saturday morning.
