BBC To Show Ride London Race

The BBC and Eurosport are to show the Prudential Ride London race on Sunday August 4th.

Developed by the Mayor of London Boris Johnston and his agencies, Prudential RideLondon will be a world-class festival of cycling taking place over the weekend of Saturday 3 August and Sunday 4 August 2013.

While the Mayor and his agencies will be the custodians of Prudential RideLondon, the event will be managed by the London & Surrey Cycling Partnership (LSCP), a partnership between The London Marathon Limited (owners and operators of the London Marathon since 1981) and SweetSpot Group Limited (operators of the Tour of Britain).

The main event will be the the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic which sees around 150 professional riders including David Millar take on the one hundred mile long course, which is a variation on the London 2012 Olympic Road Cycling Race route. It will follow the same route as the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 sportive and feature a route extension (in Surrey) to meet UCI pro race requirements.

The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic will start at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park at 12:45 on Sunday 4 August and finish on The Mall in central London. The race will pass through 12 London boroughs and the county of Surrey.

You can see the race on BBC2 11:30-14:00 and on BBC-1 16:30-18:30. Eurosport are also showing the race at 6pm.
