Coventry Bees travel to Lakeside tonight (7.45pm weather permitting).
The Buildbase Bees will head to the Arena-Essex Raceway without star No.1 Krzysztof Kasprzak due to the third round of the Speedway Euro Championship in Togliatti, Russia.
With no senior guest or rider replacement facility permitted to cover his absence, they have drafted in former British Under 21 Champion Robert Branford as a sub-6.00 Premier League rider.
The Bees are also be without Polish youngster Kacper Woryna and Gary Havelock told the Bees website: “Obviously it’s going to be really difficult with Krzysztof being away for the European Championship, and for some reason British speedway doesn’t recognise the SEC which means we don’t get a facility.
“That makes it tough, because I think going there with Krzysztof at No.1 we’d definitely be confident of giving them a run for their money.
“We’ve got three riders who can score big points around there in Bomber (Chris Harris), Danny (King) and Jason (Garrity), so if they can perform to their best then we could still get a result.”
