According to Danish newspaper BT, Bjarne Riis, the Directeur Sportif and former owner of the Tinkoff-Saxo team has been suspended.
The paper claims that owner Oleg Tinkov has suspended Riis, who was not in the Tinkoff Saxo team car for the Milan-San Remo race for poor results.
Riis has been involved with the Danish team for the last fifteen years and in 2014 sold the team to Tinkov, whose Tinkoff Credit Systems company have been sponsors for the last couple of seasons.
So far this season, Tinkoff Saxo have only had two stage victories - one for Alberto Contador in the Ruta De Sol and one for Peter Sagan in the Tirreno-Adriatico.
There are more rumours that Ivan Basso has been appointed as "Interim-Coach" but CEO Stefano Feltrin has refused to comment and at the time of writing, there was nothing on the team's official website.
