Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team beat Fife Flyers 6-5 on Saturday night at the Sky Dome.

Brenden Walker fired the Blaze ahead with a powerplay goal on 8.23, assisted by James Jorgensen and Jordan Pietrus but Fife replied with a goal from Kyle Horne on 9.55 and Pat Cullen on the powerplay on 12.28 before Jordan Pietrus equalised on 14.28, assisted by Boris Valábik and Cale Tanaka.

Into the second period, The Blaze went 3-2 up through an unassisted Walker goal on 21.08 which was followed by one from Brett Robinson on 24.53, assisted by James Jorgensen and Chris Bruton and a short handed goal from Carl Lauzon on 25.41, assisted by Drew Fisher.

By the end of the second period, the Blaze were 5-3 up when Nico Sacchetti scored on 33.09.

There were no more goals until 56.20 when Cale Tanaka scored a sixth goal, assisted by Carl Lauzon and Chris Bruton.

Most of the Blaze fans thought that was it but a brace of goals from Shane Stockton on 58.24 and 59.57 made the final score closer than it should have been.
