Coventry Blaze have signed Swedish forward Robin Bergman for the new season.
The 27 year old has signed from Danish side Frederikshavn White Hawks where he was their second highest points scorer last season with 52 in 61 games (25 goals, 27 assists).
Blaze coach Danny Stewart told the Blaze website: "He is a very high paced player that brings that element of excitement to the rink every game.
"He has fantastic speed, a great shot and is a guy that makes us more dangerous off the rush. He will be looked upon to score big goals for this club and hopefully a whole lot of them! All that said, he is also another guy that plays with a high compete level and someone that will buy into what we want to accomplish here in Coventry."
"I feel like I am in the best shape that I’ve been in and that I am playing my best hockey so far," said Bergman. "I’m looking forward to bringing that same game to Coventry. Hopefully I can get even better moving forward and help the team win a lot of games next season.
"From what I’ve heard it’s a great place to play in the UK and somewhere that they treat players very well," continued the Swede. "I’ve been told there’s a great fan base and I’m very excited to experience that first hand and hopefully we can treat them with some good hockey! I’ve had a few friends play in the league and they all say it’s a great level of hockey, from what I know it’s a more North American style of hockey compared to Denmark which is exciting for me.
"Me and my fiancé’ are thankful for the opportunity and we're very excited to join the Coventry Blaze and experience everything the hockey and city has to offer!"
