Blaze Take The Sting Out Of Hull

Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team beat Hull Stingrays 4-3 tonight at the Sky Dome.

The Blaze took the lead in this Challenge Cup tie with a goal on 1.35 from Ashley Tait, assisted by Cale Tanaka and Rory Rawlyk.

On 9.38, it was two when Ross Venus netted, assisted by Rory Rawlyk and Kyle Bochek but before the first period ended, Zach Hervato scored an unassisted shorthanded goal on 17.04.

Just under five minutes into the second period and Hull were level through Carl Lauzon, only for Ryan O'Marra to fire the Blaze back in front with a goal on 30.08, assisted by Rory Rawlyk and Mark Smith.

On 38.10, new signing Jakub Sindel found the net for a fourth goal, assisted by Rory Rawlyk and Ryan O'Marra.

Hull pulled another goal back through Matthew Davies on the powerplay on 49.58 as Coventry took the win.
