BMC are the new World Team Time Trial champions.
The opening event in the 2014 World Championships in Ponferrada was a 57.1km team time trial.
The teams pulled out some big guns with the likes of Fabian Cancellera and Tony Martin as well as British and Irish riders Sir Bradley Wigins, Geraint Thomas, Alex Dowsett and Nicholas Roche.
Going off at four minute intervals, Team Ecuador were the the first down the ramp but it was Rusvelo who set the early fastest time of 1:06:14.66.
Cannondale, who included Peter Sagan in their six riders, with the time being taken on the finish of the fourth rider, went into the lead with a time of 1:04:58.
Trek Factory were always going to be a threat and they made a big statement finishing in 1:04:31 to take the lead away from Cannondale.
Giant Shimano came in 25 seconds behind Trek but BMC with Rohan Dennis and Tejay Van Garderen had a great ride to finish in 1:03.29.85 and take over the lead.
Tinkoff Saxo, who had Nicholas Roche in their side, went into second with a time that was 46.59 seconds slower than that of BMC.
All the teams including last year's champions Omega Pharma Quick Step and Team Sky with Sir Bradley Wiggins and Geraint Thomas, were down the ramp but BMC's time was not beaten as first Team Sky came in thirty seven seconds slower and Omega Pharma Quick Step 31 seconds slower.
