Mark Cavendish is unlikely to race in the Vuelta a Espana, Omega Pharam Quick Step have confirmed.
Speaking to Cycling Weekly about Cavendish who has had surgery on a separated shoulder, following a crash on Harrogate on stage one of the Tour De France, Omega's Sports Director Brian Holm said: “If he is on the home trainer tomorrow then maybe he’d have a small chance.but it’s going to be tricky if he’s off for two weeks.
“We don’t know when he can train again. It could be a few days off the bike. “I think a few more days and he has to get over the pain.”
