Lars Boom won the Tour of Britain as Mark Cavendish won the final stage around Westminster in London.
As soon as the flag dropped, An Post Sean Kelly team rider in Roman McLaughlin attacked. He took eighteen seconds before he was joined at the end of the first lap.
Rent Mandri gave chase but it was McLaughlin who took the first Yodel Sprint of the stage ahead of House and yesterday's winner Bagdonas.
House and McLaughlin were still out in front on lap six and it was the An Post rider who took the final sprint of the race from House with again Bagdonas the front man of the peloton, some 23 seconds back.
As we approached the bell for the final lap, McLaughlin and House were 14 seconds clear.
They were brought back by Team Sky and Rabobank and this lead to a bunch sprint which Mark Cavendish won.
HTC Team Director Alan Peiper said; "Cav had a good ride in the time trial. "The points competition was a priority for him so he was riding for good placement in the final stage."
"Rabobank was doing a lot of the work at the front today, and Team Sky was also controlling," Peiper continued, "But by the last kilometer Renshaw and Eisel were on top of it, and dropped Cav off in the usuall fashion for the last time."
"The crowds were great today, it was a spectacular finish for Cav in his home country, as well as for the team to finish a long tour on a high note."
This marks the five hundred and seventh win for team HTC-Highroad since 2008, and the eleventh win this year for Cavendish.
