Coventry Bees rider Chris Harris scored eleven points for Great Britain as they qualified for the World Cup

Harris who had lost the captaincy to Ty Woffinden, rode for Britain in the Speedway World Cup Event at Kings Lynn.

Britain were up against Australia, USA and Italy and Harris had a second in heat two, a second in heat six and in heat ten, he had to put his bike down to avoid Vincentin who was disqualified and in a re-run heat, Harris was pushed out and had to settle for a point.

In Heat thirteen, Harris won, getting past Covatti and Woodward and the Bees rider went for Alan Rossiter's side needing three points for victory. Harris took the lead but the red light came on after Darcy Ward's bike packed up. Ward, who claimed he saw a red light, was disqualified.

In the re-run, Harris gated and took the three points to send Great Britain, whose team comprised of Woffinden, Simon Stead and Danny King, to the World Cup Final on Saturday.
