Cov, watched by a crowd of 1023, trailed to a 19th minute Ellis try which was converted by Whitely.
Six minutes later and Cov came back with a penalty try which was converted by Ryan, but in the 28th minute, Hawke went over for the visitors and Whitely converted.
On the stroke of half-time, Ryan kicked a penalty to see Cov down by four points at the break.
Three minutes in to the second hald and Whitely kicked another penalty in a half which saw both Ryan and Whitely kick penalties to see Cov go down to a 13-20 defeat.
