Coventry Bears Fail To Make Play-Off

Coventry Bears Rugby League team failed to make the Play-Off with a 36-26 defeat at Crosfields.

The Bears had conceded two trys by the thirteenth minute mark and they were 16-0 down halfway through the first half.

Coventry came back when Warwick University student winger James Roberts ran in a 27th minute try which was converted by Dan Poulton and a try from Liam Scott to trail 16-10 at half-time.

Dave O'Connor levelled the scores early in the second half but Crosfields kicked a penalty and then ran in two tries to lead by fourteen points with ten minutes left.

John Alred scored for Coventry in the 85th minute with a try as did James Roberts but The Bears, who will play League One Rugby League next season, went down to a ten point defeat and their play-off hopes were over.
