Coventry Bees Beat Leicester At Brandon

Coventry Bees Speedway Team beat Leicester Lions 50-42 in their first Eliie League meeting of the day.

At Brandon, the Bees who had Ben Barker back in the side and Arron Summers and Kyle Newman guesting, had a 3-3 in the opening heat before Newman and James Sarjeant rode for a 5-1 in a re-run heat two.

Chris Harris fell in heat three which Leicester won 5-1, but after a 3-3, got back on his bike to finish second in heat five which produced a 5-1 for thw Bees who now lead 17-13.

Barker won in a 4-2 and after two more 3-3's Newman won in a re-run heat nine which saw the Bees take a 5-1.

Korneliussen took a tactial in heat ten and Leicester were able to take a 5-3 win but in the next heat, Barker crashed and was left with his shoulder in a sling and out of the meeting as Harris won in a 3-3.

Two more 3-3's were followed by a 5-1 to Leicester meaning that the Bees were only four points ahead going into the final heat.

Chris Harris and Hans Andersen went and a great move by The Dane allowed Harris to take the lead and the Bees took a 5-1 to win the meeting 50-52.

Everyone will now get over to Leicester for the second meeting tonight at 7.30pm.
