Coventry Bees started their Elite League campaign with a 50-42 win over Wolves.
At Brandon, the Bees had Matej Kus guesting for the injured Stuart Robson and went down in the first heat to a 5-1 loss but got that back with a Jason Garrity win for a 5-1 in the second.
Kign and Chris Harris added another 5-1 before a 3-3 and Kus winning in a 4-2 to see the Bees 18-12 up after five heats.
Joonas Kylmakorpi, back riding for the Bees rode to a heat six win helped the Bees to another 5-1 before Karlsson won in a 3-3 beating Harris.
James Sarjeant took heat eight in a 4-2 so with Wolves, 30-18 down Karlsson took a tactical ride and won in an 8-1 to slightly reduce the Bees lead.
A 4-2 win for Wolves in heat ten brought them within three points and another 4-2 in the next heat saw that lead come down to a single point.
Sarjeant and Garrity rode in a re-run heat twelve for a 5-1 before Thorssell and Lindgren were both disqualified, allowing Harris and Andersen to take a 5-0 win and put the Bees ten points clear.
Heat fourteen finished in a 3-3 and Karlsson won his fifth race of the night in a 4-2 to Wolves as the Bees finished with a 50-42 victory.
