Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team thrashed Edinburgh Capitals 12-4 tonight at the Sky Dome.
The Blaze were ahead on 1.43 when Chris Bruton scored on the powerplay, assisted by Carl Lauzon and Brett Robinson.
Brenden Walker made it 2-0 with a goal on 6.57, assisted by Jordan Pietrus and Drew Fisher and it was three when Brett Robinson scored on 7.39, assisted by Carl Lauzon and Chris Bruton.
Walker scored again on 8.22, assisted by Drew Fisher and David Clements with James Jorgensen scoring a fifth on 14.01, assisted by Russ Cowley and Jordan Pietrus and a sixth came through Drew Fisher on 19,21, assisted by Brenden Walker and David Clements before the Blaze ended the period 7-0 up when Ashley Tait scored, assisted by Russ Cowley and Ross Venus.
In the second period, Russ Cowley scored on 22.35, assisted by Ashley Tait and Kevin Noble, followed by Carl Lauzon on 25.02, assisted by James Jorgensen and Brett Robinson and a tenth from Russ Cowley, assisted by fellow veteran players - Ashley Tait and Ross Venus.
Trevor Gerling scored twice for Edinburgh but Carl Lauzon scored goal number eleven on 33.07, assisted by Chris Bruton and Brett Robinson.
Gerling completed his hat-trick on 35.56 and Nikita Kolesnikovs scored on 39.08 to see the Blaze 11-4 up at the end of the second period.
There was only one goal in the second period and it fell to Drew Fisher who scored on 46.46, assisted by Jordan Pietrus to give the Blaze a 12-4 win.
