Coventry Blaze Win On Penalty Shots

Coventry Blaze beat Sheffield Steelers on penalty shots after a 4-4 draw tonight.

At the Sky Dome tonight, the Blaze were ahead on 1.57 when Brett Robinson scored, assisted by Carl Lauzon.

Conny Stromberg levelled on 11.46 before James Jorgensen scored with an unassisted goal on 13.34 and Brenden Walker made it 3-1 before the end of the first period when he scored, assisted by Jordan Pietrus and  Drew Fisher.

In the second period, Stromberg scored a second for the Steelers on 33.28 with a powerplay goal and 8.24 into the third, it was 3-3 when Fredrik Vestberg scored.

Carl Lauzon had the Blaze back in front on 50.49, assisted by Brett Robinson and James Jorgensen bur Sheffield drew level on 51.57 with a Cullen Eddy goal on the powerplay to send the game into over-time.

That failed to produce a goal so the match went to penalty shots. Stromberg missed his. However, Jordan Pietrus stepped up to score and give the Blaze another win over Sheffield Steelers.
