Coventry Blaze have appointed Danny Stewart as the club's Head Coach for the 2016/17 Elite League season.
The 37-year-old Canadian played for the Blaze between 2006 and 2010 winning the Elite League Championship on three occasions, including back-to-back successes whilst also adding a Challenge Cup and Knock-Out Cup.
Stewart has been at Fife Flyers but has now retired from a playing a career which spans over 800 professional games.
On his appointment as Blaze Head Coach, Stewart said to the Blaze website: "It means a lot to come back, I have a lot of good memories here in Coventry, but saying that it is a new era.
"I have wanted a head coaching job for a while and the offers I've had over recent years haven't been the right fit for me. This is a great fit for me and I am really excited about the opportunity."
