Giant Shimano's John Degenkolb has won the 64th Paris-Bourges race.
This 190.3km race which no longer starts in Paris but in the town of Gien, saw six riders get away which was down to four and two chasers with 85kms left.
Their lead of three minutes was quickly evaporated by a strong field and a group of twelve riders including Kreuziger, Huta, Jerome, Mederel Stuyven, Rossetto, Turgis, Dufrasne and Hofstede, formed a new break.
With twenty kilometres left, that lead was around forty seconds and nine kilometres, it was down to 25 seconds, forcing Jasper Stuyven to go on the attack.
The Trek Factory ride was caught with five kilometres left and although Tommy Voeckler had a brief spell on the front, the sprinters had their day and John Degenkolb took the victory in a bunch sprint in 4.25.58 ahead of Hutarovich and Giacomo Nizzolo.
