Daniel Diaz of the Funvic Brasilinvest team maintained his lead of the ninth Tour De San Luis in Argentina with victory on the fourth stage.
Stage four took the riders from Villa Dolores to Alto El Amago on a 142,5km stage which had a climb at the finish.
Giacome Berlato of Nippo Fantini, Juan Valencia of the Colombian team, Dario Díaz of the SEP San Juan team and Juan Arango of the Colombian national team formed a break which had taken a lead of 5.25.
The lead went out to 6.50 but was back down to 4.25 when Diaz took the second sprint at at Club Pringles.
Valencia took the points on the Alto del Embalse climb as the gap dropped to two minutes snd it was no surprise that Beriato, Valencia, Diaz and Arango were brought back.
On to the final climb up El Amago and race leader Dani Díaz attacked with Nairo Quntana of Movistar following along with Arango.
Diaz was not caught and took the win in 3.29.25, some 52 seconds ahead of team mate Alex Diniz, 54 seconds ahead of Rodolfo Torres and 56 seconds ahead of Nairo Quintana.
That victory sees Diaz leading the race going into stage five with a lead of a minute over Colombia's Rodolfo Torres and 1.19 ahead of Alex Diniz
