All of Great Britain's elite professional cyclists apart from David Millar will take part in the British Championships which will be held near Newcastle on June 26th.
The race to see which rider be able to wear the coverted white jersey with red, white and blue bands around it in road race competitions including the Tour De France, is being held at Stamfordham in Northumbria.
Millar, who rides for Team Garmin has opted to miss the Championship he last won in 2007 so he can continue to train in the Pyrennes at altitude in preparation for the Tour De France.
The likes of last year's winner Geraint Thomas, Mark Cavendish MBE, Bradley Wiggins, Daniel Lloyd (pictured below) and Roger Hammond to name but a few will have to finish a 122.5 mile long course.
This course will be split into two seperate circuits and encompass three climbs of the Ryals.
The first circuit is 22.3 miles long and will see the riders tackle this three times, whilst the second is 13.9 miles long and will be tackled four times.
There is also a women's race and Nicole Cook whose father and grandfather both are from Coventry is one of the favourites for the race.
