HTC-Columbia wrapped up the Tour Of Britain with a double success in the final stage in Newham in London.
Michael Albasini had assured himself of the General Classification and the 100km final stage was won by André Greipel.
"It was pretty tough for us throughout the second part of the race, but Albasini could count on some great support," commented HTC-Columbia Sports Director Brian Holm to his team's press office.
"[Teammates] Marco [Pinotti] got sick and Tony [Martin] too, so it was touch and go."
"But Bert Grabsch did a brilliant job. He did the work of two or three men.
We were also able to profit from the battle for the podium between other teams. But Michael did brilliantly. He never panicked even though it was difficult for him and that was really the key to his winning overall."
Greipel's win in the last stage is his twenty-first of the season and his third in the Tour Of Britain. "He got the perfect lead out from Mark [Renshaw] and that was enough for him to go for the sprint just as he wanted to," said Holm. "It was a great win and a great way for us to finish the race."
