2013 Tour De France winner Chris Froome has said that he is riding the US Pro Challenge, which starts today to help his team-mate win the race.
Froome is one of a number of top riders who will take part in this seven stage race which starts in Aspen, Colorado with a 104.1km circuit race stage.
Speaking at the Meet The Riders event at Snowmass Village, Froome , who is using the race to prepare for the World Championships in Florence said:“Hopefully, I can be here to help one of my team mates get the title."
Froome will be joined by Richie Porte in a strong Team Sky team which also includes Peter Kennaugh and Kanstantsin Siutsou, who worked for the Kenyan born rider to great effect in the Tour De France.
British youngster Josh Edmondson will also ride for Sky, whilst other Brits selected are David Millar (Garmin-Sharp), who will work for Christian Vandevalde and Steve Cummings for BMC who will provide domestique duties for Tejay Van Garderen, who has indiciated his desire to win the race.
Andy Schleck leads the Radio Shack team with Michael Rogers captaining Team Saxo Bank, Peter Sagan leading Cannondale, Patrick Gretsch for Argos Shimano and Darwin Atapuma leading the Colombia national team.
