Initial Cuts And Bruises For Froome

Chris Froome sustained only cuts and bruising following his crash on the fourth stage of the Tour De France.

Froome was diagnosed by race doctors as having suffered road rash on his left knee and hip, a contusion on his left wrist and a small wound on his right hand by race doctors

The 2013 Tour winner left the medical centre in good spirits giving the thumbs up to fans, after being told there was no break visible of his wrist on the x-rays.

After the stage, Team Sky boss Sir Dave Brailsford said to his team's website: “Chris felt fine in the final and felt good physically. We’re going to send him for a precautionary x-ray just to check his wrist.

“We know these things can happen. It’s part and parcel of bike racing.”

Stage five from Ypes to Ardenberg Porte de Heinhault features fifteen kilometres of cobbles in what could be pouring rain according to the forecast and Froome, who has dropped to seventh in the general classification will need to be protected if he is continue in this race.
