Team Sky's Geraint Thomas felt it was not the best of days for Team Sky as Marcel Kittel took his second victory in this year's Tour De France.
Kittel won the 155km stage from Cambridge to London ahead of Peter Sagan, Mark Renshaw, Bryan Coquard, followed by Kristoff, Van Poppel, Hassler and Rojas in a race which sees Vincenzo Nibali of Astana lead the race in its 101st edition as it heads for France.
For Team Sky, the day was about protecting Chris Froome and making sure that their number one did not lose any time to Nibali.
Thomas said to Covsupport News Service: "It was not the best stages and with the rain, we spent most of it trying to stay out of trouble."It has been really good, all three days of this race and it has been incredible to race on home roads in front of home crowds with just getting into London unbelievable."
