This race which starts in Putte/Kappallen is over eight 22.4km laps and featured mainly riders from Belgium and The Netherlands.

The day's break was formed by ten riders including Nicky Terpstra of Omega Pharma Quick Step and they soon had an advantage of 3.43.

With three laps to go, only six riders were left on the front with a lead of 2.10 and a lap later, only Pim Ligthart, Romain Sinkeldam, Kevin Vanbilsen and Nicky Terpstra were left with a lead of 1.10.

They look doomed and as they headed towards the bell lap, the quartet were caught and Dutchman Stefan Poutsma of the Jo Piels team went on a solo raid which lasted until the five kilometre to go mark.

Kenny Dehaes and Zdenek Stybar attacked but it came down to a bunch sprint which saw Tom van Asbroeck take on Jens Debusschere. It was a photo finish and the commisaire's decided that Jens Debusschere had won with Topsport Tom Van Asbroeck second and Jonas Van Genechten of Lotto in third.
