Emma Johnanson of Orica-AIS won the opening stage of the Women's Tour in Northampton.
The first ever Women's Tour race started with a 93.8km stage from Oundle to Northampton and the peloton were still together by the time Van Dijk took the first sprint at Rushton after thirty kilometres.
Ratto then attacked, taking the Queen Of The Mountains climb at Harrington before being caught before the 50km mark.
Elise Delzenne went on a solo raid and was 22 seconds clear with twenty five kilometres to go.
She stayed away until the final two kilometres which came down to a sprint that was won by Emma Johansson of Orica-AIS ahead of Vos, Barnes, Worrack, Bronzini, Garner, Cecchini, Armitstead, Pieters & Cromwell.
Time bonuses mean that Johansson leads the race by four seconds going into the second stage which starts in Hinckley.
