Jose Serpa of Lampre won the Trofeo Laigueglia race in Italy.
This is a 1.1 single day event on the UCI Europe Tour and is held annually in Liguria with previous winners including Eddy Merckx, Lance Armstrong and Fillipo Pazzato who won the race for the third time in 2013.
Serpa and Patrik Sinkewitz attacked on the final climb - the Cima Paravenna and had a lead of 34 seconds as they went over the top with thirty five kilometres to go
Rabottini and Damiano Cunego tried to catch them but on the descent, the front duo were able to extend their lead.
They were still clear on the last climb of the Capo Santa Croce by some thirty seconds and Jose Serpa rode to take the victory in 6.27.43, beating Sinkewitz and Andrea Pasqualon won the sprint for third place, ahead of Sonny Colbrelli, Ulissi and Villella.
