AG2R's Blel Kadri won the first Roma Maxima race since 2008 with a victory in Rome.
This 180km race which takes in the many monuments and history of Rome started with a fast pace of 51kmph.
Kadri led a five man break, which got away in the 52nd kilometres and was still two minutes clear with 40kms to go.
Ten kilometres later and Kadri went off on his own and with no effort from the peloton, Kadri stayed away to win in a time of 4.26.17, some 37 seconds ahead Lampre's Filippo Pozzato and third placed Grega Bole.
