According to reports in a French newspaper, the 2014 Tour De France could start in Qatar.
Journal du Dimanche are reporting that the country of Qatar which also has it's own race at the start of the cycling season, has expressed an interest in hosting Le Grand Depart.
Qatar Airways flew the riders to today's Tour De France stage in Paris from Grenoble and the country also has television right to a number of French sports including football and would be used again to fly everyone into the Arabian country for the start of the race and out when the stage moves back into mainland Europe.
Liege will host Le Grand Depart in 2012 with Corsica hosting the start of the 100th Tour de France in 2013.
