Leeds are still the favourite to host the Grand Depart of the 2014 Tour De France.
CyclingNews.com have said that Leeds are in the driving seat, having already made an offer of over four million euros to host the start of the 101st race but face opposition from Italian city Florence who are hoping to celebrate the 100th birthday of twice Tour De France winner Gino Bartali.
A decision from Tour De France race organisers Amaury Sports Organisation is expected in the next few days.
