Last year was the best year of my cycling life and the win here gave me good luck for the rest, so I wanted to repeat that performance today. I hope that this is that start and another step forward in my progression.
"It was not an easy win today: I did not feel quite right and had some doubts before starting; it was very hot and the wind has changed.
"About what remains, we well see tomorrow if Nairo (Quintana), who is improving every day, can fight for the stage.
"I want to dedicate the win to my girlfriend, Elisa, a great support to me at all times."
