Niki Terpstra won the Dwars door Vlaanderen in Flanders, Belgium this afternoon.
On a sunny day, the riders had to over come thirteen climbs along in a tough 200km long race from Roeselare to Waregem.
With ninety kilometres gone, some thirteen riders were 27 seconds clear of the peloton.
That increased to fifteen, some twenty five kilometres up the road but their lead was now down to eleven seconds. The front group was split by an attack with 86kms to go and eight riders in 2008 winner Slyvain Chavanel, Mørkøv, Mondory, Wynants, Terpstra, Ghyselinck, Jerome and Wallays.went off the front.
Mark Cavendish started to move towards the front of the peloton with four Team Sky team-mates but missed out on a split with forty kilometres to go.

Niki Terpstra went away and built up a lead of a minute and thirty five seconds which was enough to give him the victory.
