Orica GreenEdge's Simon Gerrans in in the pink jersey as the 98th Giro D'Italia got underway.
The first grand tour of the season saw the Giro D'Italia starting with a team trial on a 17.6km course from San Lorenzo al Mare to Sanremo.
Lampre-Merida were first down the ramp on a sunny day and they completed the course in a time of 20.20.
AG2R were soon home eleven seconds quicker before Astana finished in 19.39.
Etixx Quick Step only finished with six riders but were six seconds down on Astana's time.
Orica GreenEdge with Simon Gerrans and Michael Matthews were in the good form. The winners of the team time trial in the 2014 race saw them fly home in 19.26 with Gerrans leading them home to go fastest with six teams left.
The likes of TInkoff Saxo with Alberto Contador, Cannondale-Garmin and FDJ could not get near the time and it was the Australian side which took the victory.

Simon Gerrans goes into the Maglia Rosa jersey ahead of his team-mates Michael Matthews, Michael Hepburn, Pieter Weening and Simon Clarke.
Gerrans said to Juan Antonio Flecha: "What an honour to have the pink jersey thanks to some fantastic team work.
"We had some real specialists who drove the team who were committed to the plan which worked today."
