It was a good day for Movistar at the Tour De San Luis in Argentina as Nairo Quintana took over the leader's jersey whilst Adriano Malori won the 19.2km Indiviudal Time Trial.
Malori put in a superb ride to take the win in 22.11, some three seconds quicker than BMC's Tyler Phinney and 29 seconds ahead of Jorge Giacinti of the San Luis Somos Todos team.
All eyes were on race leader Phillip Gaimon but he finished 1.48 down, some thirty seconds slower than Nairo Quintana who took over as the new race leader going into Stage Six.
Leader of the Young Rider competition Adam Yates was 36th whilst Mark Cavendish has a very creditable 20th place finish.
Adriano Malori did not expect win the time trial and told www.cyclingnews.com: "To be honest, I wasn't expecting to win because Phinney was focused on taking the win here and was the number-one favourite," said Malori. "But once I got into the race, I realized I was rolling strong. I knew the parcours from last year's race, when I claimed 5th, and I knew my time was going to be good.
"It's a very important win for me, especially from a psychological point of view."
