Joaquin Rodriquez won the 14th stage of the Vuelta a España this afternoon.
The riders set out from Burgos and it was David Millar (Pictured below) who was in the breakaway along with David Zabriskie and Niki Terpstra.
Millar won two sprints and two King of The Mountains sprints as the breakaway trio built up a lead of just under thirteen minutes. Team of the race so far Caisse D'Epargne chased them down and with seven kilometres to go, they were ninety seconds ahead.
Then there was a crash and down went race leader Igor Anton who picked up a number of injuries which meant that he was forced to abandon his red jersey and the race.
Nicholas Roche (pictured below) put in another good ride and but he could not stay with a group of ten of which Liquigas' Vincenzo Nibali found the energy to break away with Joaquin Rodriquez at the top of the Peña Cabarga.
Katusha's Rodriquez won the battle to be first to the line but it was Vincenzo Nibali who took the red jersey by four seconds. Nicholas Roche finished fifth, some 34 seconds back and moves up to fifth in the General Classification whilst Mark Cavendish leads the point jersey.
Stage 15 tomorrow is from Solares to Lagos de Covadonga and is 187.3km long.
