Coventry Storm's meeting against Rye House at Brandon on Friday night was abandoned after eight heats.
A 3-3 in the opening heat was followed by Dwyer and Baseby winning in two 5-1's and with a 4-2 in heat four thanks to a win for Martin Knuckey, the Storm were ten points ahead.
Branford took the tactical ride and won in a 6-3 for Rye House but a 5-1.a 4-2 and a 3-3 had the Storm 32-19 up ahead after eight heats.
Things started get stormy off the track and the rain came down with such a force that the meeting was abandoned with the result not standing.
Coventry Storm manager Lawrence Rogers said to the Bees website: “The riders had to use their heads in the conditions, as we saw with Martin Knuckey and Rob Shuttleworth, and I do think we could have got those races done so I’m livid.
“My boys were at the tapes for Heat 9, and without going into too much detail we got fined in the Sky match for not sending riders out, and that was a similar situation.
“I just wonder if Rye House realised that if we didn’t run this meeting they are more likely to qualify ahead of us. This has to be done fairly, and they have to extend the cut-off because Rye House shouldn’t be able to do what they did today.”
Weather permitting, Coventry Storm are at home to Cradley on Sunday.
