Runners 

198 riders at the start (22 teams of 9 riders). 300 escorts. 17 members of the race stewards committee.

Course 2012

3497 km(20 stages + prologue). 37 stage towns 695 towns crossed to France, including 70 communes  abroad (52 in Belgium, 18 in Switzerland)

39 departments visited in France. Three countries visited (France, Belgium, Switzerland)

Organization

100 permanent ASO staff, 280 contractors 1400 hotel beds reserved each day for the organization and sports teams

Medical Service

10 emergency physicians, a nurse anesthetist,  Seven ambulances, two doctors cars, a motorcycle. 

Security

47 police motorcyclists, 13 policemen making up Le Tour's permanent police commission, 23 officers from the various police divisions mobilised. 1000 Council Officers.

Media (2011 edition)

2300 journalists, consultants, photographers, 700 media from 35 different countries present at the event, 320 newspapers, Press agencies or websites, 100 channels of tv, 80 photographic outlets, 70 radio stations , including 50 national.

TV Broadcasting

Broadcast in 190 countries. About 100 channelsincluding 60 live. New national channels: Albania (Top Channel), Canada (RDS), Mongolia (Channel One)

7 Stages produced in full. 81.5 hours of live on France Televisions and the international signal (including Eurosport)
