Tony Martin of Omega Phama Quick Step has won the Vuelta a España Individual Time Trial.
Cofidis' Gert Joeaar set the early time to beat of 49.52 before Time Trial specialist Jesse Sergent sett the new fastest time of 48:15.
Talking of Time Trial specialists, Fabian Cancellera was fastest at the first and second check points and as expected, the Swiss rider from Trek Factory racing flew home in 47:13 to take the lead and finish a minute and two seconds quicker than Sergent's time.
However, the favourite for the stage was Tony Martin of Omega Pharma Quick Step and the German did not disappoint, being the fastest through the first two checkpoints and finished in 47.02.
Cadel Evans rode himself into provisional third place, finishing seven seconds down on Tony Martin's time.
No-one was able to get near Martin's time and he took the win.
Quintana crashed and Alberto Contador now leads the race by twenty seven seconds.
