According to the Luxembourg Press Association, Trek Factory Racing's team bus on Thursday was confiscated by police after they found that it was travelling without valid insurance and papers.
The bus, which was in the country for the Tour De Luxembourg, was stopped by Luxembourg police after a dangerous manoeuvre on the A1, during which it nearly rammed a patrol car. The bus was on the exit to the A3 in direction of Metz, when it suddenly switched back to the motorway's right lane.
Crossing safety road marks on the motorway, police stopped the bus at P&R Howald, where it was found that the vehicle was not insured. The owners had also not paid taxes and the bus did not have valid technical control papers.
The prosecution ordered the bus to be removed from the streets and the vehicle was confiscated.
A spokesperson from the team said that the vehicle was in order but complications during the procedure to transfer the registration from Luxembourg to Belgium caused issues with the papers.
