Two Golds And A Silver For Britain

Great Britain won two gold medals on the opening day of the World Cup Championships at a sell out Sir Chris Hoy velodrome in Glasgow.

Becky James and Jess Varnish from Halesowen won the Women's Team Sprint in a time of 33.428 against Spain with Laura Trott, Dani King and Elinor Barker winning the Womens's Team Pursuit gold medal against Australia.

Jason Kenny, Ed Clancy and Phil Hinds, rode in the British team which picked up a silver in the Men's Team Sprint final. They were beaten by Germany.

Simon Yeats was fifth in the 50 lap Mens scratch race which saw Ireland's Martin Irvine get a silver.
