Early days but Bedworth top the Premier division tonight with 2 wins from Handsworth also 2 wins but both batting second. Bedworth lost only 1 wicket beating Bablake this weekend. Bablake got off to a steady start seeing off the opening bowlers but then collapsed when Thomas Holley and Jason Jakeman entered the attack. Jakeman (4-20) and Holley (5- 26)taking 9 wickets between them. Result from that point never in doubt as Luke Reeves and Sam Smart steered Bedworth home with a 100 stand for the first wicket.
Performances to note, in Division1 Fillongley scored 301 for 3 inn defeating Southam, whilst Attock (Division10 West) with 300, Spartans 2nds 347 for 3 (Division 11 East) also broke the 300 barrier. The best team score of the day however came at highway, where Newdigate 1sts scored 360 for 3 (Division 11 East). Ali Akhtar made 136 for Newdigate and Matty Allen 87 not out
If was close at Nuneaton as their seconds hosted Marston Green 2nds, Nuneaton 260 all out in their division4 clash, David Colkin with 124, but conceding 2 additional overs to Marston Green. The visitors run chase saw Inam Ul Haq and Abdul Khan both pass 50 and at 216 for 5 the win looked on. Three run outs however did not help the cause with 2 of them coming with the score on 259 with 2 balls to go. Nuneaton hung on 1 run ahead and Marston Green 9 down for a well fought and the closest of winning draws
