Coventry Blaze coach Chuck Weber has said that his side did as they were told to do in their pre-game chat.
Weber told the Blaze website: "We talked pre-game about the chance to go down in history as the last team to win at the BBT and we did that.
"It was our first win here this season and a huge two points for us. It is a tough building to play for any team in this league. They are a fantastic side and there is a reason why they are leading the league.
"But I thought our boys showed a first-class effort. It was a workmanlike effort and we made a lot of sacrifices - we have a lot of guys in the locker room with stitches and ice bags.
"We talked pre-game about having nine play-off games remaining and we know we need to pick up as many points as we can, especially when we are not expected to."
