Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team have confirmed that Chuck Weber who coached the team to a play off victory has signed for another season.
Weber said to the Blaze website: “I am excited to be back for another year and build on the strong finish from last season. Although I have only just agreed terms I have been working with [James Pease] Peasey over the last couple of months beginning the process of putting together a team Blaze fans can be proud to support. We have already made good progress securing the signing of returning players to give us a strong nucleus.
"We have the chance to win five pieces of silverware this season with two competitions giving us a route to the Champions League. I am looking forward to the challenge that lays ahead”.
Director of Hockey James Pease said “Securing Chuck for another year is a huge step forward for us. We changed a number of areas of the club last season to bring in a new culture and reset our focus.
"Finishing with some silverware after coming from where we were at Christmas was a fantastic feeling for everyone at the club and made possible by Chuck at the helm. Now we must move forward and use last season’s success to propel us in our hunt for more silverware. I feel with Chuck returning and leading our club we have every chance at being successful”.
"We would like to thank our friends at Crowngate Construction, DRP Logistics and the Blaze Booster Club for their support in making this happen. They all said they would like to help if Chuck's return was looking like a real possibility and we are delighted we have managed to make it happen."
