Coventry Blaze coach Chuck Weber felt his side controlled their game against the Dundee Stars on Sunday night in waves.
Weber, speaking about his side's 4-3 over time win, said to the Blaze website: "It wasn't pretty. I thought we controlled the pace of play in waves.
"I thought we lacked some energy in the second period but the boys persevered.
"We got two timely powerplay goals and a timely penalty kill when Boris (Valabik) went to the box late on. Then Quesnele again when the game is on the line finds a way to score."
The Blaze are away to Belfast Giants on Friday and Saturday night.
