According to a report in The Sydney Morning Herald, Orica Greenedge have admitted that they would be interested in signing 2012 Tour De France winner and Olympic Champion Sir Bradley Wiggins.
The paper cites Orica-Greenedge head sports director Matt White as saying: I would love to work with ‘Wiggo.
“If Bradley was to come we would have to have the money to buy him. He is not going to come for 'free.
“’Wiggo’ has made it public that his focus would be the Olympics in 2016 ... but we have a history for sure. "I haven’t spoken to ‘Wiggo’ for a while … But he is definitely a rider who would fit into this group.
“We would have to know what his plans are for next the two years.
"Obviously, 2016 would be a write off for the Tour, but he is a guy who could definitely fit in.
"His ambitions at Sky are certainly different to a year ago.”
Wiggins, who recently won the Amgen Tour Of California has said that he will ride and work for Team Sky team mate Chris Froome in the Tour De France in this year's race which starts in Leeds on July 5th but his future is currently unclear.
