Warwickshire County Cricket Club were beaten by 33 runs by Derbyshire in a T20 game tonight.
Needing a victory in front of a very small crowd at Edgbaston, Derbyshire batted first and put on 83 for the first wicket which came in the ninth over and gave a wicket for Ant Botha who was one of seven bowlers used by Warwicks.
Stefan Piolet removed Smith and Madsen by the end of the 12th over to see Derbyshire on 105-3.
Warwicks limited the visitors to fifty seven runs in their remaining eight overs and Maddy took the wicket of Park and Keith Barker had Wes Durston caught behind after making 64 as Derbyshire ended their innings on 162-5.
Although Darren Maddy was out after making only nine runs, Varun Chopra was in a mood to get the job done and had smacked two sixes and five fours before he was caught by Durston after making forty from only 17 balls.
That was after five overs and three balls and three balls later Jim Troughton was out after making three.
Warwicks only needed one hundred to win off fourteen overs but that target started to look a tough one as Clarke went for five, Porterfield 14, Woakes for one and Barker for six.
Fifty one runs were now needed from the final fifty balls but when Tim Ambrose was caught after making 25, Stefan Piolet and Jeetan Patel conceded their wickets with ease and Warwicks were all out for 129.
