Ian Bell and Jon Trott lead a fight back for Warwickshire on the third day of their County Championship game against Kent at Canterbury.

The final Kent first innings wicket was taken with only three runs added to the overnight score to see Kent 377 all out and Rikki Clarke with bowling figures of 6-63 from 15.3 overs.

When Warwicks batted for a second time, some 127 runs, they lost Darren Maddy for three. That brought Ian Westwood and Ian Bell to the crease and the pair put on 157 before Westwood was out for 68, trapped lbw by van Jaarsveld.

Ian Bell went ten runs later, having hit some excellent shots in an innings of 94 when the Coventry born batsman was given out lbw off the bowling of Khan.

That left the score on 170-3. Jon Trott (not out 65) and Jim Troughton had moved it onto 258-4 when the Stratford man was caught by Jones off the bowling off Stephens just before stumps.

Warwicks start the final day with six wickets intact and some 131 runs ahead.
